What is EGAD! Ideas?

EGAD! Ideas is a collection of online games, activities, and resources compiled for youth pastors and youth workers.  The ideas are submitted by visitors to the site and are edited by the site administrator.

Where did the name come from?

It represents that sinking feeling every youth worker gets when we realize that youth night is coming quickly and we have nothing prepared.  EGAD! is here to provide resources in preparation for youth events and as a quick reference for those in need of ideas fast!

When did EGAD! first go online?

In 1994, I first began work on EGAD! when I was a student at Eastern Pentecostal Bible College.  One of my profs (Carol Sirett) assigned a project in which we had to gather a file of 100 ideas that we could use in youth ministry.  I knew that I'd never be faithful in maintaining a file of clipped out ideas when I started out in ministry, so instead I put them in an Access database (being a computer junkie, I knew I'd keep it going in the future). I then decided to turn that database into a website and it has grown in leaps and bounds ever since moving from Geocities.com to Castyournet.Com and finally to its own domain at EgadIdeas.com.

Who runs EGAD! Ideas?

That would be me.  My name is Chris Fane.  I have a 4 year Bachelor of Theology degree majoring in Youth Ministry. Currently, I'm working full-time as a freelance graphic designer and web developer at Clean Slate Studios.

Although I run the site, I wouldn't have been able to get the new site off the ground without the help of Ben Tiffin-Sze.  He has done all of the ASP programming and database integration on the site.  Brian Shipman has also played a huge role in making EGAD! Ideas what it is today. 

What are your beliefs?

I am a Christian who has been raised in a Pentecostal home and have pastored in Pentecostal (PAOC) and Baptist (BCOQ) churches.

I BELIEVE the Holy Scriptures to be the divinely inbreathed, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God.

I BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in the Persons of the Holy Trinity.

I BELIEVE in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His unqualified deity, His sinless humanity and perfect life, the eternal allsufficiency of His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father's right hand, and His personal coming

I BELIEVE that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer's behalf solely on the merits of Christ, and that regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to personal salvation.

I BELIEVE in holy living, the present day reality of the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the Lord's supernatural healing of the human body.

I BELIEVE in Christ's Lordship of the church, the observance of the ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion for believers and the Lord's Supper.

I BELIEVE in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in heaven and the eternal doom of the unregenerate in the lake of fire.
